You may ask, "What is ‘END of SUMMER SHOWDOWN?’”. We will be holding a Pit beef and chili cooking competition held on site at Naylor’s. With beef being judged by our VIP ticket holders and Guest Judges. Chili will be judged by anyone that attends general admission. We will have chili tasting and music with your ticket purchases. And for additional purchase, food and drinks will be available, anyone 21+ will be able to purchase beer tickets and a wine tasting.

VIP Tickets $35+fees purchased before July 1, 2018 on or after July 1, $45+fees

Chili Cook-off

Registration and Rules

1 Teams may have no more than 3 members including a captain. Your team name must be displayed in your 10’x10’ area. (10’x10’ EZ ups are welcome)

2 All members’ names must be on registration form, signed and submitted by July 1, 2018 with the $20 entry fee. (This will get your 3 person team general admission wristbands for the event. You may still buy, in advance, VIP tickets if you choose to for these perks).

3 Set-up & cooking begins at 6:00 a.m. Chili tasting should begin no later than 11:00 a.m. for VIP guests and 12:00 p.m. for General Admissions. Judging will end at 3:00 p.m. Winners will be announced at 4:30 p.m. (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and best booth)

4 Make at least 3 gallons of chili or MORE. You don’t want to run out. You are judged by the people.

5 All chili MUST be made on site in your 10’x10’ area.

6 All food and preparation must follow Pennsylvania Food Handlers Guidelines: 40°F for cold items, 165°F for hot items to be safe. These may be checked, and if you fail, you will be "Disqualified”. NO REFUNDS

7 If using sensitive ingredients, please post a sign stating as such (i.e. nuts or such- based oils)

8 You must supply your own source of heat. (NO OPEN FIRES)

9 Serving cups and spoons will be provided for each booth.

10 Professional cooks/chefs, non-profit groups, safety personnel or anyone else is welcome to enter and encouraged.

Pit Beef Cook-off

Registration and Rules

1 Entry to the Pit Beef Competition will be 7-10 lbs. of cooked beef for the SAL to sell during the event. This must be submitted by 12:00 p.m.!

2 Teams consist of 3 members including a captain. Your team name must be displayed in your 10’x10’ area (10’x10’ EZ ups are welcome). Cooking area can be bigger if needed for cooker/smokers.

3 Members’ names must be on the registration form. (This will get your 3 person team general admission wristbands for the event. You may still buy in advance VIP tickets if you choose to for these perks).

4 Meat must be cooked on site starting @ 6:00 a.m. and ready to start sampling around 10:00 a.m. and judging until 12:00 p.m.! Winner will be announced at 4:30 p.m. (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)

5 All Teams must follow Pennsylvania Food Handler Guidelines.

6 All meat should be served above 135°F and kept cold below 40°F before cooking.

7 Professional cooks/chefs, non-profit groups, safety personnel or anyone else is welcome to enter and encouraged.
